Prohibition Begins 1920

As millions of Americans struggled through the 1920s and 1930s to make ends meet, attitudes toward Prohibition changed rapidly. The Ku Klux Klan became more militant against saloons located in immigrant neighborhoods; while criminal gangs became dominant in bootlegging and speakeasies.
